Crestborn is a fantasy-adventure Visual Novel that the students of our Young Artists' Initiative (YAI) program will produce together. Assisted by our industry partners, students will create individual characters, settings and arcs inside a universe that they have developed as a class.
In order to nurture its creative community, MediaContex has established an outreach program that assists aspiring artists and developers with producing their ideas.
Story Sight Studios, one of our longstanding partners, will assist the students of our Young Adults Initiative (YAI) program with the development of Crestborn, in which players may join a guild of Questers that will assist the royal families of their kingdoms.
In this visual novel, players are part of "The Crestborn", teenage champions who are chosen to protect their kingdoms. Before they can become full-fledged heroes, they are are enlisted into the Crestborn Elite, a guild that trains them to develop their skills.
Our students aim to develop this idea into a visual novel with the following features:
Players may create original avatars to use throughout the game. They may customise their character's name, appearance and abilities.
They will also have the choice to play as Questers from the following classes:
Multiple Story Routes
Players will be assigned to an Order - a team of Questers from various classes.
They will be able to select up to five NPCs to join their Order. Their interactions with their party members will allow them to unlock multiple characters and storylines.
Quests and Upgrades
Large Range of Items
Players may fill their inventory with a range of tools, weapons, potions, elixirs and bonus items. They may collect for themselves, or give them to the members of their Order.
Unlock and Purchase Inventory Items
Players may unlock new items with their experience points. They may also purchase items with Coins, a universal currency that is accepted across all kingdoms.
Crestborn's production team would like to thank our talented VAs for bringing our characters to life. We've created character posters with credits to their Twitter profiles:
