As a part of our Young Artists' Initiative, MediaContex will work with its partners to create a pilot of an interactive game of our students' original idea:
Synopsis
When Apex dies, his benefactor informs the racing community about a clause in his will: With official permission from the city’s authorities, Apex has organised a challenging race across the country, and he will leave his fortune to its victor.
Eighteen-year-old Dex, the son of a racer who was infamous for sabotaging his competitors, jumps on this challenge in hopes of improving his reputation.
Joined by a formidable pit-crew, Dex faces the greatest challenge of his life: He must compete against motorists whose careers were ruined by his father, and who will not hesitate to do the same to him.
Character List
Dex
Gender: Male
Age: 18 Accent: Standard American is preferred, but not compulsory. You may audition with any accent you choose. Spirited and bold, Dex is a talented driver who dreams of being a world-class racer.
Dex assumes that his father’s reputation has tarnished his image, and he hopes that winning Apex’s challenge will change his standing in the racing community. Although Dex's ambition is admirable, he tends to play by his own rules instead of the competition’s. Lines:

Cynthia
Gender: Female
Age: 19 Accent: Standard American is preferred, but not compulsory. You may audition with any accent you choose. Cynthia, a promising crew chief, directs Dex’s pit crew during his pit stops, and provides him with advice during his races.
As the daughter of a disgraced crew chief, who worked alongside Dex’s father, Cynthia hopes that Dex’s victory in this competition would improve both of their reputations. Iron-willed and blunt, Cynthia’s gruff personality isn’t easy to tolerate, but she can stand her ground in difficult situations. As the only one in Dex’s pit crew who can defeat him in a challenge, she keeps him in check before he crashes on the track. Lines:

Roman
Gender: Male
Age: 30 Accent: Standard American is preferred, but not compulsory. You may audition with any accent you choose. Roman, a mechanic in Dex’s pit crew, keeps his vehicle up-and-running, and assists him at his pit stops.
Just like his teammates, Roman is no stranger to shame. His career was dashed when he made a technical error that caused the death of a racer. Although Roman has little chance of recovering his damaged reputation, he hopes that he can give Dex a decent shot on the track. Compassionate and loyal, he acts like a surrogate father to the members of his team, so much so that his smothering becomes annoying. Lines:

Unit
|
